One of the problems with core aeration is dealing with the cores. With the advent of Linear aeration this is no longer a problem. The Linear Aerator is designed to cut 3'' deep groves in the soil 1/2'' wide and 3 1/2'' apart. The Linear Aeration process is different than core aeration in that you would topdress first and then aerate but with Linear aeration you are now cutting a groove in the soil, through the turf, bringing up the native soil and depositing it behind the aerator where a series of fingers reciprocate back and forth to blend the native soil with the topdressing mix and refill the grooves. At this point you are done and need not run back over the freshly aerated and decompacted turf.
