Earth & Turf is pleased to offer the MultiSpread 248PT pull-type drop topdresser. This is almost identical to the 65PT for market gardeners but it is a much larger model! This unit is designed to spread compost on rows of varying widths. The 48” spread can be narrowed with our optional adjustable spread kit to fit your row size. The straddle width of 55” will keep wheel compaction outside of the rows and 10” height keeps the machine above raised beds. At the widest opening, the spreader will spread up to 2” of material for more efficient spreading to avoid multiple passes.

This is unit comes equipped with a standard tractor tow tongue to fit a pin into drawbars of conventional compact tractors. It operates from the ground drive which takes power from both of its two wheels. This system is setup to spread with 2 times the traction going forward and not to rotate the belt moving in the backwards direction. While spreading, material is carried to the front of the machine on an apron conveyor belt. It is forced under an adjustable endgate for control. This determines spreading depth, but may vary from one material to the next.

Large Capacity

The 248PT drop topdresser offers 1cubic yard of heaped capacity and 2 cubic yards of heaped capacity with the light material side extension option.

Rope To Clutch Engage

You can easily operate the 248PT’s clutch from the seat of your tractor or towing vehicle thanks to the rope to clutch system. Engage and disengage spreading without leaving your seat!

Narrow Ag Tires

Part of the 248PT design is a tall, narrow ag tire to provide ground clearance (11") and a narrow footprint (6" each tire) with lots of traction to propel the belt for action.

Adjustable Endgate

The 248PT has an adjustable gate for a variety of spreading materials. Spreading from a topdressing to a heavy mulching layer, this machine is useful in many scenarios applying amendments to garden rows.

Wash out Ports

There are several wash-out ports on this top dress spreader allowing you to keep the underside of the belt clean by pressure washing after use, which keeps it on track when used heavily.

Full Width Belt

A 48-inch wide crescent belt delivers material evenly and smoothly to the metering gate for an even spread with soil, wood chips, compost and more.

Adjustable Jack

Each unit comes with an adjustable jack with a crank for heavy adjustments hitching up and 3 slots for quick unhitching. This allows the operator to unhitch and load if needed, or park in an easy to hitch position.

Ground Drive System

Dual wheel ground drive system runs belt off wheel speed, allowing consistent spread at various speeds. This also means you can tow the spreader with a UTV, Tractor, or other option with no PTO or Hydraulic Requirements.

Optional Features

Optional Light Material Sides

Optional light material sides are a great feature for increasing overall hauling and spreading capacity. By utilizing the light material sides option, you can reduce the time spent loading your pull-behind topdresser, carrying twice the volume of the base model. They also make loading cleaner and easier with a large loader by opening 58" X 59" (78" corner-to-corner).

Optional Spread Narrowing Kit

Optional inserts from the factory narrow down the spread width for smaller bed widths, options of 30”, 36”, or 42” to assure clean spreading for narrower rows. These are bolt in chutes and not adjustable, but could be removed with a few nuts and bolts for another set or the standard 48" spread pattern.
